A Piezo igniter isn’t the best match for the WindBurner or Reactor stove systems.
In these stoves, the mixing of air and fuel happens inside the mixer tube, which keeps the flame safely enclosed and protected from the wind thanks to the built-in heat exchanger. This design makes the radiant burner of the WindBurner and Reactor much more resistant to wind compared to traditional burners. Since fully enclosed burners require a bit more energy to ignite due to the increased air in the mixture, using a lighter or match is a more effective choice for these stove systems.
Here’s how to light your WindBurner and Reactor stove systems:
1. Hold a lit match or lighter above the Burner Screen.
2. Open the Flame Adjuster until fuel starts to flow. Turn the Flame Adjuster counterclockwise about 3 full turns.
3. Check to see if the stove has ignited. You might see a blue flame. The stove will get RED HOT within 5 to 30 seconds, depending on wind and temperature. If the fuel doesn’t ignite within 10 seconds, close the Flame Adjuster, wait 15 seconds, and then repeat steps 1-3 above.
