It's important not to pack or store your tent when it's wet, damp, or dirty. Even though we use high-quality polyurethane waterproofing, keeping it in moisture for too long can lead to hydrolysis, which breaks down the waterproof layer, making it soft, sticky, and no longer effective.
If you store a wet tent for just 24 hours in warm weather, it can start to develop mildew. This can lead to stains, odors, and can damage the waterproof coating. Please note that mildew and moisture damage aren't covered under the Limited Warranty.
For long-term storage, try to keep your tent in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight. It's best to store it outside of its stuff sack, similar to how you would with a sleeping bag, using a breathable, oversized cotton or mesh duffel for protection. An old pillowcase works great for this too!
