We offer a Limited Lifetime Warranty for all Platypus products.
So long as you are the original purchaser, and you use your Platypus product for the use it was intended (for example, using packs for hydration while on the trail, and not as rock carriers for landscaping efforts), and you treat your products with care and maintain them properly, we warrant your product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the useful life of your product.
What the heck does “useful life” mean? How long is that?!
“Useful life” means your product’s lifetime—not your lifetime; in other words, your product’s warranty lasts only until it has reached the point where it is no longer safely useful/functional, a point which varies for each product depending how often a product is used, where it is used, how well it has been cared for and maintained, etc. The wear and tear all products experience through use will cause them to show age and wear; the more a product is used, the faster wear and tear will occur, and the faster that product will reach the end of its useful life.
Here's what is not covered
This warranty does not cover wear and tear to your product. Common examples of wear and tear include: faded colors, abrasions, scuffing/scratches, degradation of materials caused by UV exposure or use, and corrosion, etc. Additionally, this warranty does not cover products that have been altered in any way, improperly maintained, or misused, abused, or neglected
If we determine that the problem you are experiencing is not covered under warranty, we will, if possible, repair your product for a reasonable charge that includes return shipping and handling.
If you need to file for a warranty on a Platypus product, here's how our team will handle it.
Following your purchase of a Platypus product from an authorized Platypus retailer, original product parts we determine are defective in materials or workmanship (so long as the defect was not caused by damage while in your possession, or unreasonable use, or failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance), we will repair or replace at our expense. In instances where your warranty-eligible Platypus product requires service, but we no longer manufacture the product, or feel that it cannot be repaired, we may offer to replace your product with one of comparable value and function.
