MSR tents come with enough stakes and guy lines (not guidelines:) ) to effectively set up the tent in normal conditions. Your tent will likely have additional attachment points for additional anchors. In more volatile conditions, you will need additional guy lines firmly staked out to give additional support to the tent and prevent tears or pole breaks.
If you recently purchased a tent and feel it may be missing components take a close look at the images and product description online. It is rare but mistakes do happen. Submit a request we can take a closer look with you and send out any missing components.
Your tent gains much of its’ structural integrity from the guy lines that keep the rainfly in place and not pushing too hard on the pole structure.
