WindBurner Stove Systems with the remote-canister design are not intended to work with the canister inverted, in liquid-feed mode.
The WindBurner is designed with a pressure regulator specifically to combat the effects of cold weather and low canister pressure caused by fuel use. This pressure regulator allows the WindBurner to deliver a faster and more consistent cooking experience than a liquid feed stove, down to 32◦ F/0◦ C, while maintaining flame control, which liquid-feed stoves lose. In temperatures below freezing, WindBurner stoves will continue to run at full output regardless of outside temperatures if you place the canister in water. This is because the pressure regulator is tuned to deliver maximum output at as low as 32◦ F/0◦ C. Surrounding the canister with water will keep the stove running at max output in these conditions.
