Replacing Paragon/PosiLock Straps:
Found on all Ascent Series snowshoes* (except Evo Ascent)
To Replace the Paragon Toe Straps:
- Slide straps completely out of the buckles.
- To detach the nose of the strap, rotate each side until it unlocks from the binding.
To remove Paragon/PosiLock heel straps:
- Push the longer side up through the buckle to disengage the buckle tab.
- Push the tail all the way through and pull the entire strap out.
To replace Paragon/PosiLock straps:
1. Reverse the steps to install new straps.
Make sure to use the strap retainers to keep any extra length secured.
Replacing Paradigm Straps:
Found on all Explore Series snowshoes
To remove Paradigm toe straps:
- Pull red buckle tabs and pull the straps out. Remove the toe stop tabs by twisting the top of the tab loop and pulling it over keeper nub (like undoing a button).
To remove Paradigm heel straps:
- Push the longer side up through the buckle to disengage the buckle tab.
- Push the tail all the way through and pull the entire strap out.
To install new straps:
Reverse the removal instructions. The Paradigm strap kit comes with two length options for the heel strap; yellow is 12 inches/30.5 cm, blue is 14 inches/35.5 cm. Make sure to choose the length that fits your footwear the best.
It’s important to ensure the strap retainers are facing outwards when you’re done.
The rear strap on Paradigm bindings are also compatible with our replacement Classic Straps.
Replacing Paraglide Straps:
Found on all Trail Series snowshoes
Tools Needed:
- Scissors or blade
- Flathead screwdriver
- 3/8" wrench, 10mm wrench, or adjustable wrench
To remove old Paraglide straps:
- Cut the mesh strap above each of the toe rivets.
- Remove straps from both buckles, remove the strap retainer and remove the heel strap from the strap channel.
To install new Paraglide straps:
- Push the heel strap through the strap channel, install the strap retainer and feed both straps through the buckles.
- Insert toe-stop tabs and install hardware with the nut facing outwards. Tighten each nut until strap material is slightly compressed.
Replacing Classic Straps:
Compatible with rear strap on Explore Series snowshoes with paradigm bindings, PosiLock bindings and Evo Ascents snowshoes (confirm with Iris)
The shorter 12-inch straps are generally used to replace over-the-toe straps. The 18-inch straps usually replace the heel strap, though you can choose to use the longer straps as over-the-toe straps to accommodate larger footwear like snowboard boots.
To remove toe straps:
- Remove the strap retainer and remove the toe strap from the strap channel.
To remove heel straps:
- Remove the strap retainer and remove the heel strap from the strap channel.
To install new straps: Reverse removal instructions.
Replacing HyperLink Straps:
For Hyperlink bindings found on pre-2022 Explore series snowshoes
The shorter straps are used to replace over-the-toe straps, and the longer straps replace the heel strap. Alternately, use the size that fits your footwear the best.
To remove Hyperlink straps:
- Release strap from buckle.
- Pulling towards the front of the binding, slide strap completely out. Use a wiggle motion if you have difficulty.
To replace Hyperlink straps:
- In the same direction, reinsert strap.
- Note that each strap has two size settings. To leave at the larger size, stop at the larger tab. To shorten, simply pull strap through to the shorter setting.
Replacing Older PosiLock Straps:
To remove PosiLock straps:
- Push the longer side up through the buckle to disengage the buckle tab.
- Push the tail all the way through and pull the entire strap out.
To replace PosiLock straps: Reverse the steps to install new straps.
