Our canister stove systems are protected from overheating by a thermal trip. Most often this is triggered because people try to use non-system cookware with their system stove which radiates too much heat back to the stove and it stops working. In this case, the stove automatically shuts off as a safety measure to protect you because it’s a potentially dangerous situation for the burner head to overheat near the connected fuel canister.
On some canister stove systems, the thermal trip can be reset. However, on the Reactor an internal component is triggered during this shut off. This means that it’s not field serviceable. Please contact our service department to get your Reactor repaired and back up and running.
