A Piezo igniter does not work well with the WindBurner or Reactor stove systems.
In the WindBurner and Reactor stoves, the air and fuel mixing occurs inside the mixer tube of the stove, allowing the flame to be completely enclosed and protected from wind with the integrated heat exchanger. This construction makes the WindBurner and Reactor’s radiant burner far more wind resistant than a conventional burner. Stoves with fully enclosed burners requires more energy to light because there is more air in the mixture at the area where you light the stove. For the WindBurner and Reactor stove systems, a lighter or match is a better option.
Follow these steps to turn your WindBurner and Reactor stove systems on
1. Hold lit match or lighter over top of Burner Screen
2. Open Flame Adjuster until fuel begins to flow. Turn Flame Adjuster counterclockwise about 3 full turns.
3. Confirm that stove has ignited. A blue flame may be visible. Stove will become RED HOT in 5 to 30 seconds, depending on wind and temperature. If fuel does not ignite within 10 seconds, close the Flame Adjuster, wait 15 seconds, and repeat substeps 1-3 above.
